Since 1958 when it was established as the first state grammar school in Bury, The Derby High School has prided itself on being a unique and popular school.

We are delighted to have maintained our longstanding reputation for academic excellence. In March 2010, Ofsted judged us to be a good school with outstanding features.

The school’s motto “Excellence, Tradition and Imagination” illustrates our primary aim: striving for excellence in all aspects of our work whilst maintaining the traditional values of hard work, consideration and respect in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Our website will provide some insight into the things that we think make our school special. If you would like to visit us, we would be delighted to welcome you.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Alyson Byrne, B.A. M.Ed.
Headteacher
